The Problem:
Canadians are working hard, but it's not paying off. Living standards have fallen since 2019, the U.S. has pulled ahead, and skilled workers are leaving for places where effort is rewarded. When earning more no longer leads to better living, people invest and build less.
The Idea:

A young tradesperson earning $65,000 saves around

A teacher earning $75,000 keeps about

A small business owner earning $100,000 keeps roughly
Why It Helps:
The idea leaves families with money to save, invest, and build. It draws more people into work and keeps skilled workers and entrepreneurs in Canada.
How to Pay for It:
The plan costs $130–140 billion a year. It would be funded through a line-by-line government spending review, reforming retirement benefits so they flow to those who actually need them, consolidating overlapping programs, a simpler tax system, and revenue that comes back as people spend and invest.
